Mirror Stage is Theatre That Gets People Talking
Mirror Stage uses the power of the spoken word to engage the community, spark the imagination, and bring us to a place of common understanding. With the goal of increasing tolerance, Mirror Stage challenges assumptions, bias and prejudices while encouraging more thoughtful reflection.
Mirror Stage has produced three fully staged productions and 37 Feed Your Mind readings—serving more than 3,800 patrons, in total, since 2002.
Planning is underway for two Feed Your Mind productions in early 2011. Details to be announced soon.
Mirror Stage’s most recent artistic activities focused upon its innovative Feed Your Mind series of staged readings. Feed Your Mind highlights new voices, and examines topical issues from different perspectives. The plays are presented simply: no costumes or sets—just the actors and the text. Following the reading, a discussion with the audience and artists focuses on the text and explores the relevance of issues raised to our community, nation, world and selves in more depth.
